Scotland's National Women's Team on Edge of Glory

Scotland's women head out into their match tonight knowing that a victory would be a huge step towards securing a play off spot for qualifying properly for the European Championships.

After the weekends 8-0 victory over Israel, the players were buoyant that the match against Republic of Ireland could go a long way to deciding second spot in the table but after seeing Ireland's losing scoreline come through against Wales, the ladies must surely know that victory in Cork will bring them within the finishing line.

Scotland have three remaining fixtures, tonight's match v Ireland and then a double header against Wales and table toppers France. With only four points needed from these three games, odds are in the favour of the tartan terrors to secure the playoff spot and then hopefully through to the proper championships.

Scotland coach said on the SFA website:""We are determined that we will make the play-offs and we are in a good position to do that with three games left to play.

"When the campaign started we expected tough games against Wales and Ireland and that has proved to be correct so far, but we want to go out and win this game."

Lets hope for victory tonight in Ireland and the ladies will be closer than ever to championing the Scottish football cause.
